What I'm all about

Shop the look: Top / Purse: Kate Spade / Shoes: Urban Outfitters / Hat: American Eagle

Well I've been waiting for the right time to talk about why exactly I started my blog and where I want to take it since I started it.. so I guess today's the day. There is a lot of reasons I started blogging, but the main one is I want to be a fashion designer and have my own clothing lines in the future. I love making things, pushing my creativity, photography, traveling, and meeting new people so I think being a designer would be a blast. I want to start with bathing suits and work towards designing a little bit of everything! Bathing suits, clothing, shoes, bags, house decor.. I am interested in it all..ready to wear and luxury. Sometimes I think to myself, it's just clothing and it doesn't really matter but yet we get up each morning and dress ourselves in what makes us feel comfortable and confident. How cool would it be if someone thought my design made them feel confident?

I really just think blogging is fun and an easy way to share. My favorite blogs/bloggers are Tessa Barton, Barefoot Blonde by Amber Fillerup, and The Blonde Salad by Chiara Ferragni. Tessa has the aesthetic that I really like, she is really creative and more artsy than the typical blogger. She also wears all of the brands that I love! She does it all and is so inspiring! Amber is a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latte Day Saints and works with luxury brands. She has two of the cutest little kids ever. It's crazy how much you feel like you know these people through their blogs, haahha. And lastly, Chiara is the number one most successful and influential in the fashion industry. She is proof that a blog can become more than just a blog.

The jeans in the photos are all made with the jeans in the very last picture. The ones in the middle are actually the ones I am wearing. I always see pants like these on Pinterest, Urban Outfitters and Free People and they are soo expensive. So I bought these three pair from a thrift store for $6 and just did it myself. lol I first bleached them and cut the knees out, cut the pockets off and sewed the pockets from the Levi shorts on them, then sewed the parts I cut off of the other two pair of pants onto the knee area I cut out earlier. All really easy and make the some pretty sweet $6 mom jeans! I just bought material for my next project that I am really excited about. I can't wait to it with you guys. I am going to try and make a lot of the clothes that I am going to be wearing in future posts. :)

Finally, to the inspiring designers.. I don't really follow any specific designer that closely because I want to be able to think on my own and pursue my own ideas but these designers are what my wildest dreams are made of. Being able to show like these would be a dream come true and what I am trying to works towards achieving. So definitely look at their pieces because each one is definitely a piece of art.

Inspiring designers

Well that was basically my life story as today and everything that I want to be. So this is why I started my blog and a little of what I am looking at doing with my life.

Have a great week!

Alora :)
